Former Sacred Heart Catholic Church building in Franklin burned

Four area fire departments came together for a practice burn on Sunday, September 13 in Franklin. The object of their training was the building that had served the community as the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for more than a century. Fire fighters from Franklin, Fairfax, Bird Island and Morton were all on hand to gain experience as the structure was lit, quickly became engulfed and eventually fell in on itself (Staff photo by Denise Bonsack)
