Gerald Francis “Gary” Goblirsch, age 80, of Redwood Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Redwood County, MN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, MN. Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery near Redwood Falls. Visitation will be on Friday, December 18, 2020, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, and will continue on Saturday, December 19, at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Gary was born on November 23, 1940, on the family farm near Bechyn, in Henryville Township, Renville County, MN, to Leo Michael and Alvina Amy Ahrens Goblirsch. He attended District #27 Country School near Bechyn and graduated from Olivia High School in 1958.

Gary married Sandra Kay Lothert in 1960. They had a son, Scott, and Sandra passed away in 1969. In 1970, Gary married Sandra Kay Palmer and their daughter, Kelly, was born in 1972. Sandra died in 1995. Gary married Jeanne Marie Paulsen Kodet in 1996. Jeanne died in 2013.

In addition to farming since 1975, Gary was a Master Electrician, who owned and operated “Gary’s Electric” in Redwood Falls. He continued to actively work and farm until his death.

He enjoyed going to the lake, attending farm and toy auctions, tinkering in his shop, watching westerns and his favorite TV shows: CHIPS; Gunsmoke; Bonanza; and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Gary was survived by his children, Scott Goblirsch and Kelly (Jason) Steffl, both of Redwood Falls; grandchildren, Shawn (Desiree) Goblirsch of Shakopee, Sarah Goblirsch of Sterling, CO, Trevor (Brianna) Goblirsch of Redwood Falls, and Kaitlin and Alexa Steffl of Redwood Falls; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Devin, Jayce, Kade, Fletcher, Thompson, and Hendrix; and siblings, Robert “Bob” Goblirsch of Olivia, Ruthy Sturgill of Alexandria, Virginia, Richard “Dick” (Kathy) Goblirsch of Deerwood, MN, Darlene (Jerry) Woods in Canada, and Daryl (Linda) Goblirsch of Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alvina Goblirsch; wives, Sandra Kay Lothert Goblirsch, Sandra Kay Palmer Goblirsch, and Jeanne Marie Paulsen Goblirsch; an infant brother; sister-in-law, Donna Goblirsch; and brother-in-law, Art Sturgill.
