Henry A. Albers, age 79, of South Haven, MN died Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

The visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN. The funeral will be live-streamed for those unable to attend. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, MN. Pastor Bob Miner and Pastor Kent Krumwiede officiating.

The casket bearers will be his grandchildren.

Henry Adam Albers was born August 17, 1940 at his parent's farm in Green Isle, MN. He was Baptized and Confirmed in his Faith at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Glencoe, MN. He graduated with the Class of 1958 from Arlington High School.

On May 18, 1962, he was united in marriage to Melva Weckwerth at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. They lived in Green Isle and North Minneapolis for a short time, prior to moving to Robbinsdale to raise their family. They lived in Winthrop for 15 years and retired to the shores of Lake Marie near South Haven in 1993.

Henry was self-employed as a carpenter for over 32 years; he worked mostly in the metro area and was known for his finishing woodwork. In later years, he worked at a local bar in South Haven. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop; a former member at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in New Hope, Union Local 653 and the Robbinsdale Lions Club, where he served two terms as President. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hanging out with his dogs and cats, woodworking, cooking, baking and watching western movies. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends. Henry was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Melva; daughters, Sandra Pomplun of Gaylord and Lisa (Pastor Kent) Krumwiede of Fairfax; son, David (Misty) of Eden Valley; grandchildren, William, Anthony and Ethan Pomplun, Joshua, Peter, Phillip (fiancée Amanda McCann) and Jacob (Erin) Krumwiede, Wyatt, Willow, Garrett and Gabbriel Albers; great grandchildren, Dominic, Chase, Alexander and Evelyn Krumwiede; step great grandsons, Bently and Blain; brothers and sisters, Leonard Albers of Plymouth, Vera (Ronald) Olefke of Plato, Maynard (Nancy) Albers of Green Isle, Verlinda (Kenneth) Stoeckman of Green Isle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Denise) Weckwerth of Robbinsdale and Stewart Weckwerth of Green Isle; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Emma Albers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ruben and Lillian Weckwerth; granddaughter, Faith Angelica Krumwiede; son-in-law, Jeff Edward Pomplun; sister-in-law, Aileen Albers; and nephews, Todd and Tye Brown.
