Loren was born November 16, 1945 to Harold and Agnes (Volk) Clobes in New Ulm, MN. He was baptized December 16, 1945 and confirmed March 22, 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax, MN. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1964 and received his associate degree from Bethany Lutheran College. During his time at Bethany, he met and married Michal Harmon. Together they raised three children and were blessed with 54 years, eight months, and ten days of marriage.

Loren had several careers during his working years. He and Michal owned and operated MN Valley Frame Shop and Gallery for several years and owned a tree cutting company. He retired as a job counselor from the state of Minnesota after 17 years of service.

Loren’s passion, however, was living to help people and serving others. He volunteered thousands of hours with Hunter his beloved therapy dog, visiting area long-term care facilities and hospice patients. He especially enjoyed doing devotions and hymn sing-alongs at the facilities he visited. Loren truly lived by the golden rule. Faith and family were his top priorities.

Loren is survived by his wife, Michal; children, Jevne (Chad Goodburn) Clobes, Rev. Jennifer (Rev. Daryl) Thul, and Jonathan (Dawn) Clobes; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Hannalora (Sam), Andreas, Nathan (Jessica), Oliver, Joshua, Abigail, David, Caleb, Hannah, and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren, Lillyana, Liam, Quinn, Rowan, Warren, Laila, and James; siblings, Arnold (Carol) Clobes, Lila Panek, Armin (Juanita) Clobes, and Donald (Sue) Clobes; and sisters-in-law, Mary and Carol Clobes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Agnes; brothers, Franklin, George (Kay), and Howard; parents-in-law, Stanley and June Harmon; sister-in-law, Carol Harmon; brother-in-law, Robert Panek; and many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to Rev. Ben Unseth, St. Croix Hospice, and Loren’s faith filled family.
