Marleen Canfield, age 75, of Fairfax, MN passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm, MN.

Memorial Service was Monday, January 6, 2020, 10 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in Memorial Gardens in Slayton, MN. Pastor Kent Krumwiede officiated. Organist was Char Daniels and soloist was Mariah Bahrenfuss, "Dancing In The Sky".

Honorary Urn Bearers were Marleen's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Urn Bearers were Nikkya Betz and Shawn Berglund.

Marleen Kay Canfield was born on November 17, 1944, in Pipestone, MN. She was the daughter of Henry and Henrietta (VanRoekel) Vos. Marleen was baptized as an infant at the Reform Church in Edgerton, MN, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at the Reform Church in Worthington, MN. She received her education in Chandler, MN, and was a graduate of the Chandler High School Class of 1962.

On July 23, 1972, Marleen was united in marriage to Lorenz Canfield at the American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. After their marriage, the couple resided in Slayton. She was a loving homemaker and mother. Marleen and Lorenz were blessed with nine children. Marleen and Lorenz shared 46 years of marriage until Lorenz passed away on May 2, 2019.

Marleen was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax and the Bible Study group. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary #205 in Fairfax. Marleen delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at Ruby's Pantry in Redwood Falls.

Marleen enjoyed reading, fishing, playing games, and camping. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Marleen is survived by her children, Shelby Berglund and her husband Delvin of Iona, MN, Keith Canfield and his wife Theresa of Park Rapids, MN, Curtis Canfield and his partner Ginger of Larchwood, IA, Eugene Canfield and his wife Naomi of Great Falls, VA, Douglas Canfield and his wife Vicki of Fulda, MN, Lisa Ackerman and her husband Dean of Slayton, MN, and Tammy Canfield and her husband Dan Oliphant of Madelia, MN; grandchildren, Scott, Jeffery, Shawn, Nikkya, Chance, Kaysea, Stormy, Joshua, Emily, Jonathan, Rebecca, Jennifer, Nicholas, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Naomi, Kathleen, Krystyna, Alexander, Allen, Gracie, Paetton, Mariah, and Lorenz; great-great-grandchild, Kohen; sisters, Joann Knapp and her husband Rex of Clarksville, IA, and Brenda of Sioux City, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Henrietta Vos; husband, Lorenz Canfield; daughter, Tammy Lynn Canfield; son, Mark Edward Canfield; brothers, Harold Vos and Larry Vos.
