Richard John Mathiowetz, 82, of Fairfax, MN passed away on March 6, 2021, at the Fairfax Community Home.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Richard was born in Sleepy Eye, MN, August 19, 1938. He met and married Agnes Homan August 25, 1959, at St. Andrews Church in Fairfax, MN.

Richard moved his family to Fairfax in 1962 and farmed for 12 years. He then started his own trucking business and drove truck for 35 years before retiring.

He was an avid fan of restoring antique tractors and in his later years, restored over 200 tractors.

Richard is survived by his wife, Agnes; and their children, Kelvin, Myron (Lynn), Kristi Lang, Mary Hillmer, and Julie; brothers, Pat (Jane) and Duane (Carol); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with number seven on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loretta and Clarence Mathiowetz; brothers, Ronnie, Gerald and Lowell; sister and brother-in-law, Luverne and Marlys Haala; son, Danny; daughter, Karen; and son-in-law Loren Hillmer.
