Lunches are prepared at GFW Intermediate School by the lunch team, which includes a rotation of the cooks and paraprofessionals. The group packs 160 lunches each day and approximately 119 of those are delivered. Pictured below are bus driver Jerry Pelzen and Paraprofessional Amanda DeBoer loading the van for Monday’s deliveries.

As we begin to wind down another school year, albeit a year like no other year, we look to the future. Next fall will be here before we know it and we will hopefully be back to normal as we remember it.

Life has certainly changed at the schools in our communities and throughout our country. I’m sure that many of the students in our communities will be able to share some interesting stories with their children in the future when this is written about in the history books.

On March 25th, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz ordered all schools in Minnesota to begin Distance Learning starting on March 30th. Schools were given two week prior to this to prepare for Distance Learning as we continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Distance Learning is scheduled to take place through at least May 5th.
