Lawrence J. Anderson, age 97, of Fairfax, formerly rural Hector, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Carris Health Redwood Seasons House in Redwood Falls, MN.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in Camp Lutheran Cemetery in Camp Township, rural Fairfax. Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Lawrence and Alice were married 69 years, raised and are survived by daughter, Deborah (Gary Hanson), while an infant son preceded them in death.

Lawrence and Alice were residents, of late, in Fairfax at Countryview Estates, but lived for many years on the Anderson family farm in Palmyra Township, rural Hector, MN. Lawrence took pride in his 95 years’ time at the family home, and was joined there after marriage to Alice in 1951. Along with Deborah, all three were active in farming, and enjoyed rural life and their time with family and friends.

Lawrence enjoyed raising and showing horses in parades and community events, loved golfing, and also bowling. Alice found joy in travel, and also through crafts, including needlework and sewing, but particularly in refinishing furniture. Much of her work is still used and enjoyed by family members.

Both Lawrence and Alice were active in church and civic functions, and hosting family and friends. They opened their home to a number of exchange students in the past, and enjoyed close connections with them as adopted family, and continued to do so before their passing. Memories of Lawrence and Alice are dear, cherished by family and friends both local and abroad.

Lawrence and Alice were preceded in death by their son-in-law, Ken Nelson.

They are survived by grandson, Thor Nelson of Nicollet, MN and great-grandchildren Myles and Amelia; and grandson, Carl Nelson (Olga) of Amboy, MN and great-grandson Evan.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, J. Ben Anderson (Selma, née Danielson); sister, and brother-in-law, Alyce Canny (John); and his brother, and sister-in-law, J. Donald Anderson (Arlein).

He is also survived by his sister, Millie Flink (Duane) and extended family.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Dahl (Mabel, née Hanson) of Fairfax, and older brother Lowell.

She is also survived by many members of extended family.

Arrangements by the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Online Obituaries and Guest Book available at www.hantge.com.
