Cedar Mountain Middle/High School hosted a mock crash on Wednesday, April 21. Students watched as local law enforcement, fire and ambulance crews, and eventually the local funeral home staff responded to a simulated crash in which several of their fellow students were injured or died when they rear-ended a tractor as a result of distracted driving. Kelly Stelzer was ‘driving’, while Madison Heiling and Keagan Lueck were ‘injured’.

Cedar Mountain Juniors and Seniors celebrated the nearing of the end of the school year with their traditional Junior/Senior Prom held at Gilfillan Estate on Saturday, April 24.

The Sherman-Bohn VFW Post was mustered for the first time on February 19, 1946. At that time, 55 veterans became the Post’s charter members.
Seventy-five years later, the group received the Diamond Jubilee award for reaching the milestone.
The Post was named for Lloyd Sherman, the first soldier from Morgan to be lost overseas during World War I, and Jerald Bohn, the first solder from Morgan killed in World War II.

The Franklin City Council met for their regular meeting on Monday, April 12.
Once the agenda and consent agenda were approved, the group moved on to the ambulance report. McCorquodale informed the council that they were able to get 10 additional used radios for $100 each. She was also able to make arrangements for a lower cost for reprogramming the radios than was originally quoted.

The Gibbon City Council met on April 6, 2021 for their regular monthly meeting. The first item discussed was the City’s audit. All of Gibbon’s funds look good, especially with the cash balances each fund has built up. Overall, the cash balance from all funds is at $2,319,419.00 for 2020.

According to a report from the Fairfax Police Department, Josh Krenz, 36, of Fairfax, was injured in an electrocution accident on Monday, April 5. The accident happened just after 3:00 pm at Krenz’s business, the Fairfax Body Shop.
