The Cedar Mountain girls’ basketball team traveled to Winthrop on Monday, February 3 to go head-to-head with the GFW T-Birds on their home court in a Tomahawk Conference battle.

The T-Birds were the first to put points on the board with a three by Brynn Busse. 

The Cougars answered quickly, however, on a basket by Megan Sandgren.

Kaity Lee made a trip to the free throw line for two GFW points to take the score to 4-2, but Sandgren was there again to tie things up for the Cougars.

The GFW boys’ varsity basketball team hosted the Knights of Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Friday, February 7 in Fairfax.

Both teams started things off slowly, but consistently, keeping the score close.

The GFW girls’ basketball team traveled to Sleepy Eye on Friday, February 7 to take in the Knights of Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on their home court.

The T-Birds worked hard, but struggled with turnovers and cold shooting. The Knights took the lead early and never looked back. At the end of the first half, they held a 17-32 advantage.

Cougar boys fall to Mavericks

The Martin County West Mavericks visited Morgan on Thursday, February 6 for a Section 2A North matchup with the Cedar Mountain Cougars.

The Cougars, coming off their Monday-night loss to GFW, were ready to turn the week around.
