ELIZABETH "DIANE" SCHWEISS

Elizabeth "Diane" Schweiss, 89, of Fairfax, MN passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 3, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.

Diane was born June 12, 1937, in Mankato, MN to Logan and Anastasia (Templin) Hager.

She grew up near St. Clair and married Raymond Schweiss on August 26, 1959. After Ray's military service, they returned to the Schweiss family farm near Fairfax, where they farmed together and raised six children.

Diane was devoted to her family and was known for her wonderful home cooking, baking, gardening, quick wit, and loving spirit. She enjoyed golfing, dancing, cards, and creating a welcoming home for family and friends. Her greatest joy was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Stasia (John) Kent, Phyliss (Ted) Hajnasiewicz, Carmen (Tim) Gilsrud, Raymond (Cathy) Schweiss Jr., June (Don) Webb, and Logan (Lynne "Tork") Schweiss; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Schweiss Sr.; her parents; siblings Thomas Hager, Michael Hager, Rita Wolfe, and Mary "Kay" Schweiss; and other family members.
