Loren T. Kiecker, age 66, of Fairfax, MN, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Olivia Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

Private family burial was held on April 30, 2020, at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Wellington Township, Renville County, MN.

Loren Thomas Kiecker was born on July 16, 1953, in New Ulm, MN. He weighed 7 lbs. 13-1/2 oz. and was 20 inches long. He was the son of Friedrich Jr. and Irene (Briese) Kiecker. Loren was baptized as an infant on August 13, 1953, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Wellington Township, Fairfax, MN, by Pastor G. F. Zimmerman. His sponsors were Harvey and Elvira Grams. He was later confirmed in his faith on June 19, 1978, by Pastor V. Starbuck.

As a youngster, Loren attended school in Redwood Falls, MN, where he learned his skills of reading, writing, and counting. Loren enjoyed going to school and meeting new friends. Later he participated in the ACTS (Adult Client Training Services) program in Olivia, MN. Most recently he attended MRCI Adult Day Program in New Ulm, where he worked and participated in fun activities. He later retired into the EASE Program. He enjoyed packing his daily lunch and going on outings with his friends.

Loren was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Wellington Township, and Fairfax, MN. He actively participated in Jesus Cares, a Bible Study group that is led by Pastor Muske. Loren always had a part in the Jesus Cares Christmas programs. He was a member of Peoples First and held the office of photographer for many years. Loren enjoyed attending Camp Omega during the summers. Loren participated in the Special Olympics as a bowler and track and field athlete, receiving many medals and ribbons.

Loren had many hobbies. He loved writing lists, letters, and cards. He enjoyed coloring fuzzy posters and pictures, playing games with his family and friends especially BINGO (for the prizes). Parties and holidays were a big deal for Loren, namely Christmas and his birthday. He loved to visit, laugh, dance, exercise, and listen to Old Time and Country music. He was a friendly guy! Everywhere he went, somebody knew him! Twice a year, Loren had a care conference with his guardians and many support staff, which ended with a shopping trip and out to eat with his guardians. Don't know who enjoyed it more Loren or his guardians - it was a highlight of his life! Loren made this world a better place for all those around him. He shared his life with many friends, including a large family. He loved, he inspired, and he blessed so many. Through his inspiration and Christian attitude, he has made all of us better people.

Loren was a resident of the Knollwood Home, Prairie Community Services in Fairfax. Recently he lived in the Olivia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Olivia where he passed away.

Loren is survived by his sisters, Joy (Roger) Draeger of Brownton, MN, Joann (Wally) Vorwerk of Gibbon, MN, Gail (Bill) Roebke of Hector, MN; brothers, Jerry (Janice) Kiecker of Fairfax, MN, Lowell (Sharon) Kiecker of Fairfax, MN; brother-in-law, Gerald (Sue) Schiro of Willmar, MN; nieces and guardians, Kathy (Kevin) Nordby of Brownton, MN, Jana (Teal) Schafer of Hector, MN; many more nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Friedrich Jr. and Irene Kiecker; grandparents, Friedrich Sr. and Anna Kiecker, Julius and Amanda Briese; and sister, Jolene Schiro.
