GFW School Board approves SOD Plan

In a special school board meeting held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Primary School in Gibbon, the GFW School Board approved the proposed Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) plan that is intended to get the district back on the road to financial health.

Meet GFW’s new School Resource Officer

After nearly a year, the position of School Resource Officer at GFW Schools has been filled.

Officer Andrew Peterson accepted the position back in September, but the process of background checks, and other administrative tasks was finally completed just recently.

Fairfax Vets recognized by DAV

RC Hospital and Clinics affiliating with HealthPartners

RC Hospital and Clinics (RCHC) is on track to finalize the terms of an affiliation with HealthPartners in late March of 2020. 

The process has been a long one, but RCHC CEO Nathan Blad says they are getting close. The goal is to have all of the agreements completed and paperwork done by the end of March.

Presidential Nomination Primary Election March 3, 2020

In 2016 legislation was passed creating a presidential nomination primary. Has the state had a presidential primary before? Yes, in 1916, 1952, 1956 and 1992. This year, after decades as a caucus state, Minnesota will hold its first presidential primary since 1992. The March 3 primary date places the state in the middle of Super Tuesday, when voters from 15 states and territories cast their ballots.
