Pastor Charlie Stewart has been presiding over Swedlanda Lutheran Church for the past 33 years; and Sunday, January 26 marked his final service as a pastor before retirement.
The Fairfax Fire Department received a $200 donation recently from the Iron Warriors Central Lakes Chapter out of Atwater, Minnesota. Iron Warriors is a motorcycle club comprised of current and former fire and law enforcement personnel. Each year, the Central Lakes Chapter does a fundraiser memorial motorcycle ride in memory of Chelsey Nielson.
In a special school board meeting held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Primary School in Gibbon, the GFW School Board approved the proposed Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) plan that is intended to get the district back on the road to financial health.

After nearly a year, the position of School Resource Officer at GFW Schools has been filled.
Officer Andrew Peterson accepted the position back in September, but the process of background checks, and other administrative tasks was finally completed just recently.

RC Hospital and Clinics (RCHC) is on track to finalize the terms of an affiliation with HealthPartners in late March of 2020.
The process has been a long one, but RCHC CEO Nathan Blad says they are getting close. The goal is to have all of the agreements completed and paperwork done by the end of March.
