Back in late July, when Larry Christiansen found out he had to have open heart surgery, he knew he wouldn’t be able to harvest his crops on his own this fall.
At that point, he talked to a neighbor and friend and asked him to put something together to ensure that his investment was protected. The call his neighbor put out did not go unanswered.

The GFW School Board met for their monthly meeting on October 19, 2020 at the Community Center in Fairfax.
Following the approval of the agenda, the group recognized the Dollars for Scholars committee for their efforts as part of their monthly Community Recognition effort.

The Cedar Mountain School Board met for their regular monthly meeting on October 14 in Franklin.
The Board heard administrative reports starting with Principal Machart, who talked about the great turn out at pre-school screening. The screening took place at the Franklin Community Center because of Covid-19 but went so well they’ll likely use the space again.

Memorial Park in Fairfax has been a busy place recently! Changes have been made to the playground area and sidewalks have been added to make the shelters more accessible. Additional work is being done inside the grandstand, including improvements to the restrooms and concession stand. Those projects will be done in time for next spring’s season opener.

Frandsen Bank asked, and once again, the community of Fairfax answered. The Fairfax branch, through their Community Impact project, raised approximately $1,900 in cash and personal protective equipment donations for GFW and PLS schools to protect students from the COVID-19 virus.
