Protecting yourself from Identity Theft should be a top priority for each of us as we process out mail and important documents. If someone gets your personal information, it is very easy to apply for a credit card in your name or steal your identity for other ways of fraud. Remember that identity thieves can’t find documents you have shredded.

The Music for Memories event held in Gibbon on Saturday, September 10 drew a large crowd, but also raised awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. Nashville Recording Artist Jay Allen performed for the crowd, along with popular local cover band Second Notion. According to Magnusson, 350 tickets for the concert were sold. The Morgan Fire and Ambulance Departments held their annual 9/11 Memorial Brunch on Sunday, September 11. The event included good food, visiting with friends and neighbors, and firetruck rides for the kids. Tracy Elsing of Morgan also donated a picture she made to the fire hall. Morgan resident Dena Bickhardt has created some beautiful things during her 75 years on this earth. She says she has always loved working with her hands, so she started woodworking, and then took a lesson in stained glass from a gentleman in Sleepy Eye. She made beautiful windows and doors for 30 years.
A bad accident in 2014 that nearly took Dena’s life eventually led to the art she is creating now.

The sunflower field by Fish Sunflowers located in Gibbon opened to the public on August 31. You have a limited amount of time to check it out though – the field closes again after September 12.
