The GFW Robotics team, called GFW Advance, Number 17736, is in the midst of their competition season. This year’s team is made up of fourth, fifth and sixth graders that have never been on a lego team before this year.

The Cedar Mountain School Board met to conduct their regular business on Monday, January 10.
The organizational meeting was held first, starting with the election of officers. Joe Sullivan will continue in his role as Chair, while Doug Mathiowetz was re-elected as Vice Chair. Brycen Christensen and Jennifer Rose will also continue their respective Clerk and Treasurer positions.

The first regular Gibbon City Council meeting of 2022 was held January 4th. A hearing was held for Animal Regulation Ordinance 165 which outlines specifics for animal ownership in town. No one was in attendance to comment. The ordinance was later approved, along with a summary of the ordinance to be published in the newspaper.

The 2021 Gibbon Royalty, Brooklyn Werner and Lexi Rettig, are preparing to pass along their titles and their crowns as their reigns come to an end on Saturday evening, January 15.
As they look back on the past year, the girls shared some thoughts on their experiences, and some advice for the incoming Royalty.

The 2022 Gibbon Royalty will be crowned during the Coronation on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm in the Elementary School Gym. The public is invited to attend the Coronation. Masks may be worn, but are not required.

The Franklin City Council met for their final meeting of 2021 on Monday, December 8.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, and the approval of the agenda and the November minutes, the group moved on to the Consent Agenda.
Councilor Robin Kokesch requested the $16,000 repayment of the internal loan for payment on the Community Center be added to the monthly billing authorization. There were five past due utility accounts. The consent agenda was approved.
